Land Grading
We level and grade yards, lots and acreage around Bastrop. Low spots get filled, high ground gets cut, and the surface is sloped so water leaves.

Laser leveling is grading that is measured against a laser beam. Dupree's Dirt and Excavation uses it on pads, lots and drive bases around Bastrop and Monroe. A rotating laser sets one reference plane across the site. Every cut and fill is measured from that plane, so the ground ends up at the planned height or fall.
Laser grading is the precision side of land grading. On flat northeast Louisiana ground, a small miss in the grade decides where rain water ends up. We use the laser to find the high and low spots, then cut and fill them to the plan.

The laser sits on a tripod and spins its beam in a full circle. That beam forms one reference plane over the whole work area. It holds the same height while the dirt moves underneath it.
A receiver picks up the beam at any spot on the site. It shows how far the ground there sits above or below the planned grade. That reading tells us how much dirt to cut or fill.
Checks repeat from the first cut to the last pass. On flat ground the eye is easy to fool. A yard can look level and still drain back toward the house.
Flat clay ground gives water little help. The USDA's official sample of Perry, a clay soil, comes from Morehouse Parish. The soil survey puts Perry soils on level to gently undulating slopes, with runoff slow to very slow. NOAA's normals put Bastrop at about 58 inches of rain a year.
On ground like that, a building lot needs one set fall to drain. Louisiana's residential code wants the ground to fall at least 6 inches within the first 10 feet from the foundation. Laser land leveling builds that fall in from the house pad out to the low side of the lot.
Pad leveling works the same way on a smaller footprint. House, shop, barn and mobile home pads get a flat top at the planned height. The edges are sloped so water sheds off. The fill underneath goes down in compacted lifts, the same way we build house pads.
A slab needs a firm base at the right height. We level and grade that base to the height the builder calls for. Then it is ready for the concrete contractor to form and pour.
Driveway and parking pad bases get the same laser grading. The base is cut and shaped to grade before any rock goes down. That way the rock spreads at an even depth and water runs off the edges. We haul the rock in our own dump truck for a gravel driveway or parking pad.
A laser check of a finished grade is a smaller job. We take readings across ground that is already graded and mark where it sits high or low. Then we cut or fill those spots back to the plan.

Call (318) 614-2073 and tell us what the property needs. We ask a few questions about size, access and what you want at the end.
We come out and look at the ground, the access and where the water sits. Seeing it is the only way to price it right.
You get a price for the work and a plain list of what is included. The estimate is free.
Louisiana 811 is called before we dig, and any permit the job needs is sorted out first. Then the machines and the truck go to work.
The ground is graded back out and the debris is gone. We take a last look over it with you before we pull off.
